In this section we kindly invite you to see how you can help us with various types of Donations.
Food Donations
As you can imagine there is a great need for food in the Shelter with 100+ dogs. If you can please help, please do.
We feed them on dry food, better for their teeth and ensuring they have a balanced diet which provides all necessary nutrition and important intestinal flora.
Donations of the Brand Orlando, from Lidl are welcomed, a 10kgs sack is around €7, a good product and price. Lidl does not deliver so if you are not close to the Shelter, you can shop online.
Online Animal Shop (Tienda Animales Online)
A little more expensive than Lidl but they deliver free of charge.

Of course you may buy where you wish, the most important thing is the dogs don’t go hungry. If you live in Totana you may prefer to buy in Mascotas, simply tell them the name of the Shelter: Refugio del Viento and pay and we collect.

Donations of Materials
We need cleaning products: Mops, brooms, buckets, large rubbish sacks, scrubbing brushes, really anything and everything and loooots of Bleach!
Comfort and wellbeing products: Large plastic beds, transport cages and bags, blankets, towels, collars and leads, heavy duty metal eating and drinking bowls.
Also, anything your dogs don’t need our dogs would appreciate you donating to them.

Medicine donations
Leishmania treatment: Glucantime, Milteforan, Alopurinol
Zyloric, Septrin, Flagyl, Cibacen, Rodogil, Hidroxil, Amoxicilina Clavulanico, Pantomicina, Colirios for eyes to disinfect and hydrate them, gauze, plasters, hypodermic needles.

Goods Donations
If you have anything that you no longer need please don’t throw it away, we can sell in the second hand markets and raise a few euros to help us continue with our work. Books, toys, clothes, accessories, ornaments and household goods.

Craftwork Donations
If you have the gift to be able to create: Broaches, rings, bracelets, dolls, soaps, candles, we would love to receive them and we can sell at our local Market to raise money.

Voluntary Work
We need kind people who are experienced with dogs that could help us in their spare time to help us clean the Shelter, walk and brush the dogs, support us at fundraising events, taking the dogs to and returning the dogs from the Vet. And to collect donated goods in the local area. You choose what you do…..
Volunteers are hugely important to us, without this support we could not go on. All full time helpers and The Manager at The Shelter receive No Salary.
